Starting June 25, HDFC Bank will stop sending SMS alerts for UPI transactions under Rs 100. This decision comes after feedback from customers who found such alerts unnecessary. However, email notifications will continue for all transactions, and SMS alerts will still be sent for transactions above Rs 100 or for receiving more than Rs 500 via UPI. This change aims to reduce operational costs associated with bulk SMS services due to the high volume of UPI transactions. Customers should ensure their email addresses are up-to-date to receive notifications.
